Sunda Kelapa after Dark

At the end of our second and final day in Jakarta, after the sun had already set, we took a taxi out to the old port of Sunda Kelapa. Lines of schooners were docked, but at the very end of the dock a ship had just arrived from Belitung and stoneware in massive white sacks were being unloaded.  We walked the edge of the dock with water crashing up over the edges every few minutes. We didn’t linger too long, because we need to head back to our taxi to get home for some sleep before heading out to Bandung the next morning.
